Bank Connect automatically determines statement import date ranges based on account-specific settings in Business Central. The initial import date is selected during account linking, while subsequent automated imports use import settings.
View Statement Import Settings
You can view the fields used to calculate statement import date ranges on the Bank Account Card in Business Central.
Search Bank Accounts.
Select the bank account you want to review.
Locate the following fields that provide visibility into the account’s statement import settings:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Latest Trxn Date | The latest transaction date recorded from imported bank statements. Used to determine the date range for subsequent automated imports. |
| Import Lookback Days | The number of days Bank Connect looks back from the latest imported transaction date when requesting statement data. |
How Statement Import Dates Are Determined
Initial Statement Import
When bank accounts are linked during Bank Connect activation, an initial statement import is triggered using the selected historical import date.
If the imported statements contain transactions, the Latest Trxn Date field is updated on the Bank Account Card.
For more information about linking accounts and selecting a historical import date, refer to the Link Users & Accounts guide.
Automated Statement Imports
After the initial import, Bank Connect calculates each account's statement import date range using the Latest Trxn Date and Import Lookback Days fields described above. The end date is always the previous date.
The lookback period allows Bank Connect to retrieve previously requested dates alongside new statement data to account for transactions added or updated after an earlier import.
Example: If the latest transaction date is September 15 and the lookback period is 10 days, the next automated import will request statement data beginning September 5.
The Latest Trxn Date field is updated as new transactions are imported.
For more information on setting your company's import schedule, Bank Connect Administrators should refer to the Manage Import Settings guide.
Import Missing Statement Data
If statement data is missing, you can manually import transactions and balances for the affected dates using the Import Bank Data action in Business Central.
Manual imports allow you to select a specific date or date period to retrieve missing statement data without changing your automated import settings.
For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Import Bank Data for Bank Account Reconciliations or Import Bank Data for Payment Reconciliation Journals guide.
Manual imports do not affect the regular automated import schedule.
