Automation Settings
| Setting options | Description |
|---|---|
| Automatically post completed payments |
Enabled by Default - Payment Companies only When a payment reaches the Completed status, Bank Connect automatically posts it to the Bank Account Reconciliation page. If the setting is disabled, the accounting users must manually post payments. |
| Automatically send Remittance Advice |
When enabled, Bank Connect automatically sends remittance advice emails to vendors after payments are posted. To use this feature, an email template must first be configured in Business Central. Note: Contact your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partner if you need assistance configuring email templates. |
| *Automatically Import Data: Bank Account Reconciliation |
Enabled by Default - Information Reporting and Payment Companies Automatically imports bank statement data into the Bank Account Reconciliation page based on the configured import schedule (e.g., daily, weekly). To configure the import schedule, see the Manage Import Settings help article. |
| *Automatically Import Data: Payment Journal Reconciliation |
Automatically imports bank statement data into the Payment Journal Reconciliation page based on the configured import schedule. To configure the import schedule, see the Manage Import Settings help article. |
| Automatically Send Notifications: Payment Approvals |
When enabled and email notifications are configured, Business Central sends email notifications to Bank Connect users with approval entitlements for the submitted payment(s). To set up and manage automated email notifications, see the Automated Email Notifications for Bank Connect help article. |
| Automatically Send Notifications: Completed Payments |
When enabled and email notifications are configured, Business Central sends an email notification to ERP users assigned the Bank Connect Admin permission after the payment is moved to "Completed" status. To set up and manage automated email notifications, see the Automated Email Notifications for Bank Connect help article. |
* Automatically Import Data settings:
Depending on your accounting process, you can choose whether bank data is imported automatically on a schedule (e.g., daily or weekly) or manually by users.
Consider which reconciliation process your organization uses before enabling these settings.
If both Bank Account Reconciliation and Payment Journal Reconciliation are enabled, the same imported bank data will populate both reconciliation pages.
Important
Users can still perform manual bank imports even when automatic imports are enabled. Additionally, user can adjust the account's last imported start date before rerunning the import.
💡 Troubleshooting Tips:
If Automation Settings are enabled but bank data is not being imported as expected, review the Job Queue Errors log in Business Central to identify any scheduled job failures.
